Reconceptualization of Food Court at the South Pole is Complete

FORTGROUP completed renovation of the food court at the South Pole Shopping Center on Prazhskaya. It was based on the project by the Chapman Taylor, a British architectural bureau.

Antarctic ambiance of the mall now justifies its name. The new concept visually expanded the space by utilizing light color decor and modern ceilings. The new interior design creates a home-like and still very dynamic feeling.

We abolished straight lines in positioning the tables and instead split the space into several zones.  The food court became more spacious. We were able to fit 290 sitting places and 7 operators on the area of 526 square meters.

Chapman Taylor designers suggested using tables of various geometric shapes. Some chairs we replaced by soft cushions. Structural columns do not look as heavy due to interesting decor. They became icebergs, providing pleasant cooling for the space.

Food court renovation was the final stage of the shopping mall reconceptualization. The central atrium and commercial galleries were renovated earlier. The pool of vendors has changed.  There are more than 20 new brands. Opening of the multi-theater Cinema-5 at the end of last year was the signature event.

As a reminder, South Pole Shopping Center is located on the intersection of  Prazhskaya Street and one of the main arteries of Southern Saint Petersburg, Slava Boulevard. The total floor area of the mall is 34 thousand square meters, leasable area is 26.9 thousand square meters. Among anchor vendors there are Perekryostok (Crossection) Supermarket; M.Video; Extra Sports Fitness Center; Domovoy Home Goods Store; Igolochka (The Needle) handicraft and stitching supplies; fashion stores MANGO, NIKE FACTORY STORE, Lo, INCITY, PANDORA, Zarina, befree, O’stin, Diplomat, Estes Adoni, Palmetta, Chester, Ekonika; IL DE BOTE Skin care and Perfume; restaurants and cafes: McDonald’s, Carl's Junior, KFC.
