The Market of Shopping Centers of the Moscow Region has High Potential for Development

The Moscow region (MR) following the results of the current year can become the leader of input of shopping centers. MR share against the background of decrease in input in Moscow, other regions of the Central federal district and countrywide can increase according to the experts almost to a quarter of the new offer in the all-Russian market. The director of development of FORTGROUP Oleg Gromkov commented the situation:

"Shift of focus of new development towards MR is a result of glut of the market of Moscow. Practically all locations in Moscow ring road are already blocked by coverage zones of large shopping centers, and quite often these zones have considerable crossings that creates intense competition — Oleg Gromkov has noted. — on the other hand, the large-scale housing estate outside Moscow ring road proceeds, population density increases, and the competition among shopping center isn't so high. Nevertheless, if to tell about remoteness more than 20 km fr om Moscow ring road, then the greatest interest is attracted by the cities of Moscow region wh ere people not only live, but also work at the local enterprises. Podolsk is one of the most self-sufficient cities of the Moscow region with rich history and a large number of jobs while in him still there is no modern shopping center even of regional scale. For these reasons of FORTGROUP has made the decision on construction of the new project in the downtown, which thanks to emphasis on a leisure component will become, demanded addition of social infrastructure of Podolsk. Inhabitants won't need to go than tens of kilometers anymore and to get stuck in the Moscow traffic jams to visit the family leisure center which isn't in Podolsk just yet".

In the rating of security with qualitative floor spaces among the cities with population from 300 to 500 thousand people in 2017 Podolsk took the fifth place since the end. Here only 84 sq.m. of qualitative floor spaces are the share of one thousand inhabitants. At the same time the city promptly develops: ten years ago the number of his population was 180 thousand people, this year has already exceeded 300 thousand.
